Reflection on VAT increase Prices Increase in Cement

Due to increase in VAT,several companies dealing with the cement  have requested approval from the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) to increase the price of a bag of cement between Rs. 40 and 50. As cement is considered as an essential good, its current  maximum retail price was fixed at  Rs. 870, the CAA said.
