Misuse of State Funds by Wimal Weerawansa?

It has come to light that political stooges of Wimal Weerawansa, engaged in his political work were paid out of State funds, when he was the housing minister. During the period, 2011 to 2014, two offices functioning purportedly as NHDA sub project office at Battaramulla and Jana Sevana supervising office had employed nearly 20 persons under ministry affiliate Ocean view Development Company. With the exception of three, all the others had drawn salaries from Ocean view, while being employed in other professions elsewhere. One of them was a journalist attached to ‘Lankadeepa’, who acted as a media coordinator. The state has incurred a loss of nearly Rs. 30 million from this act of fraud by WimalWeerawansa.
