Weather Forecast for 15th May 2016

The atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka has intensified in to low pressure area and established in South east of Sri lanka. It is likely to intensify further and   gradually develop in to a depression and likely to move closer to Sri Lanka affecting the weather over the country and surrounding sea areas. As such, showery and windy conditions are expected to continue over the country and surrounding sea areas.

Cloudy skies and Showers or thundershowers are expected over the most parts of the island.

Very heavy falls (around 150 mm) are also likely at some places.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
