Injustice to women: An Iranian MP Lost Her MP Post for Not Wearing Hijab 

Minoo Khaleghi contested Iran parliamentary election in Ispakan Electorate and elected as a member of parliament. Certain photographs of her without hijab had been uploaded in internet, which were said to have been taken during her foreign visit to China and Europe.  Iran authorities said that Iranian women should wear hijab when they are on foreign soil.

Minoo Khaleghi was charged for not following this requirement. This case has been inquired by the Iran judiciary. She argued that these photos uploaded were not original, but forged. Further she said this was done deliberately with a hidden political agenda to sling mud on her. But the judiciary declared that she is guilty and cannot continue as a MP and ordered her removal.
