The Department of Irrigation said, flood level reported in a number of areas over the past few days are gradually receding.
Flood level along the upper Kelani River has gradually decreased said,Head of the Water Sciences Unit Prema Hettiarachchi
She said flood level in the mid and lower valleys have not eased. However, she said the water levels will not completely recede over the next 24 hours.
Hettiarachchi added flood levels in other areas have reduced, while there has been no indication of rising floodwater.
