Railway Gatekeepers Demanding Rs 5000 Increase on Strike

Gate Keepers of Unprotected Railway Crossings  demanded wage increase of Rs 5,000. They have launched a strike today demanding this increase.

Secretary of the Keepers of Unprotected Railway Crossings Association Nimal Chandrasiri said the decision was taken due to the failure to grant a proposed Rs. 5000 wage hike by relevant authorities. According to him, over 2000 employees have engaged in the strike.

The keepers of unprotected railway crossings across the country are engaged in a strike since this morning (31), an official said.
