Indictment Filed Against Ranatungas On Alleged Bribery

It was alleged that  Ranatunga had solicited a bribe from a businessman in Moratuwa and had accepted a part of the amount. Ranatunga  said to have accepted the bribe through  a cheque written in his wife’s name.

The FCID initiated investigations over the incident last year and sent relevant investigation report to the Attorney General for advice.

The Attorney General has filed indictment against UPFA MP Prasanna Ranatunga, his wife Maureen Ranatunga and another individual over a case of financial fraud.
