The Election Secretariat said the issuance of the voter register for the upcoming local government election is underway.
Speaking at a workshop in Kandy yesterday Additional Elections Commissioner U Amaradasa said four facts are being taken into consideration when entering individuals.
He said the four facts include an individual being 18 years or above, a Sri Lankan citizen, residential facts and should comply with the requirements cited in the 89th Article of the Constitution.
Amaradasa said the Secretariat will include all eligible individuals who have filed out the forms given by the Grama Seva officers.
The Additional Elections Commissioner said those residing in storied houses and those living on rent will also be included in the voter register.
