Preventive Arrest Fundamental Rights Petition Filed in Supreme Court By Basil Dismissed

In his petition, Basil informed that B reports have been filed on investigations done  by the FCID in Gampaha, Pugoda, Matara and Kaduwela Magistrate Courts, and there was an attempt to arrest him under the Money Laundering Act.
However, the B reports have been filed misrepresenting the facts, Basil Rajapaksa had claimed.
He was recently arrested on two court cases by the FCID on differ8ent occasions in May and in June. He was released on bail in both cases.
The Supreme Court today (8) dismissed his Fundamental Rights petition filed ordering the prevention of his arrest in respect of  five cases filed by the FCID.
A three member bench headed by Chief Justice K. Sripavan dismissed the case, directing that there was no legal basis to it.
