Misuse of 600 Million State Funds Lalith & Anusha Before High Court Today

The cases against Former Presidential Secretary Lalith Weerathunga and the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, Anusha Palpita over the misuse of 600 million rupees in state funds will be taken up for hearing today.
Both are charged with misusing 600 million state funds to purchase and distribute Sil material in soliciting votes for Mahinda during the 2015 Presidential Election.
This case was first taken up by Colombo High Court judge N.V Karunathileke on the 25th of May and put off to 13th June 2016.
The owner of the supply company,  who, provided the Sil material gave evidence before Court.
Investigations were carried out by the Police Financial Investigations Division following which, charges were filed by the Attorney General at the Colombo High Court.
