Tokyo Aid Conference Abandoned

World countries have taken the position that a solution to resolve Tamil ethnic issue should be found in Srilanka, before providing financial assistance to the North and East development work. The International Committee and the Tamil  leaders are disappointed.  In the meantime, the Prime Minister has appointed a reconciliation secretariat under the Chairmanship of Manory Muthettuwegama. This secretariat will start its, work within the end of this month.

To under take the operation in the North and East, committees were appointed . Members of the committee were given training. Before end of this month this committee will start functioning in the North and East said, Secretary to this Secretariat Doctor, Packiyasothi Saravanamuththu.
