Joint Opposition Poised to Send Home the Central Bank Governor

The Joint Opposition calls to send the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Governor Home.

MP Bandula Gunawardena has insisted that the tenure of the Central Bank governor – Arjun Mahendra should not be extended.

Speaking at a media briefing of the Joint Opposition, Gunawardena said that, a series of protests have been planned  from the 24th of June, forcing  the Authorities not to extend the tenure of Arjun Mahendra.

Noting that, the rupee had depreciated badly and inflation had skyrocketed last year, the MP Bandula Gunawardena added that, it was compelled to print a staggering number of banknotes due to the poor financial management of the current government.
