The government is considering the removal of VAT exemption for cigarettes and alcohol, Minister of Special Assignment Sarath Amunugama said today . In other words , VAT will be imposed in future after the decision was taken He stated at a press conference held in Colombo.
Further he said that the government was considering the removal of the VAT on medical laboratory tests and air tickets.
