Wame Kendraya to Election under ‘hand’ symbol

The Wame Kendraya has finalized to contest the upcoming general election on the ticket of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) headed incumbent by President Maithripala Sirisena.

It was better for the SLFP to contest under its own symbol, Political sources stated.

The Wame Kendraya, formed during the recently concluded presidential election, comprises the LSSP and the breakaway members of the Communist Party.

The party would meet the president on June 18 and try getting permission to contest along with the SLFP, Political sources stated.
