While announcing Cabinet decisions yesterday, journalists questioned Cabinet spokesman Rajitha Senaratne about Mahinda Rajapakshe’s pronouncement in Japan, that he has not robbed even a dollar,and if proved he would cut his neck and die. In reply Rajitha said that there were neither cases filed nor financial fraud charges made against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and he has not blamed Mahinda in the past. I don’t think that he has robbed or done any fraud. He said that he has blamed only Rajapakshas and not Mahinda Rajapakshe for financial frauds and irregularities in the previous regime. If Rajapakshes say that they would cut their throat if proved, there won’t be any neck left, he said. However, if he robbed, there is no hard and fast rule that he should do it alone , but it could have been done along with others, he said.
