Controversial News Maker Thewarapperuma in Fasting at Mathugama

A demonstration took place opposite the Zonal Education Office of Matugama  on Monday (27) morning, against the failure of the Authorities to enroll the students who had obtained the highest number of marks in Grade One to the Matugama Meegahatenne Primary School. Deputy Minister, Palitha Thevarapperuma too  joined them. Road blocks were put up by the demonstrators disrupted he normal traffic.

Deputy Minister, Palitha Thevarapperuma is currently engaged in a Satyagraha fasting  Campaign opposite the Matugama Zonal Education Office to register his protest against the failure of  authorities to enroll 10 students to Grade 1 at  the Matugama Meegahatenne Primary School. This fasting is continued for the third day today.
