Bail Granted to Udaya Gammanpila
UPFA MP Udaya Gammanpila was arrested by the Police Special Investigations Unit at his office in Pagoda Road, Nugegoda on June 18 and remanded till July 01. He was charged of using a fraudulent Power of Attorney to sell the shares of a company .
He has been charged with the sale of shares valued at Rs.110 million which belonged to Australian businessman Brian Shaddick by fraudulent means.
When the case was taken up today , he has been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court. He was released on a cash bail of Rs 25,000 and three sureties of Rs 500,000 each. The other suspect in the case was released on a cash bail of Rs 15,000 and two sureties of Rs 500,000 each.
