Bus Fare Increases Agreement Before Cabinet Today

Bus associations were prepared to commence a strike on the 4th of July demanding bus fares to be increased by 6 per cent.
However, the associations decided to suspend the strike after they met  the President and held a discussion. An agreement reached  is placed in the form of a Cabinet paper.
Accordingly, the relevant proposal will be discussed by the Cabinet of Ministers, while a final decision is due to be made within two weeks.
Meanwhile, bus associations and transport officials are due to hold a special discussion on the matter tomorrow.
