Police Opened Fire at a Vehicle Suspected Smuggling Drugs in Pannipitiya

During a raid at Pannipitiya  this morning  (05), Police  attached to Narcotic Bureau opened fire on a  vehicle  suspected to be smuggling illicit drugs.  Police was compelled to open fire  after the driver did not heed orders to stop. The vehicle however managed to escape from the scene, and an investigation is underway to trace the vehicle,  police said.
