Lankan Tamil assaulted in special camp in India

A Sri Lankan Tamil, Y. Srijeyan (39), housed in a special camp in Madras, India, sustained a head injury after he was allegedly assaulted by two other inmates on Sunday night.

He is undergoing treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital. E. Eswaran and B. Sivasankaran have been named as the accused by the police.

There was a money dispute between Srijeyan and the other two for a while. Eswaran and Sivasankaran were later arrested, sources stated.
