Final Decision on Bus Fare Amendment Today

The final decision on increasing bus fares based on the annual bus fare amendment will be announced today(12). The announcement will be made following today’s Cabinet meeting.

A discussion was held between President Maithripala Sirisena and Bus Associations recently where an agreement was reached to announce the final decision at today’s Cabinet meeting.

Bus associations announced that bus fares should be increased by 10 per cent according to the annual bus fare amendment. The associations further stated that a future course of action will be taken if the government fails to agree with the percentage.
