On Submission of VAT Legislative Enactment in Parliament , a Case will be Filed in Court – Bandula

In a press conference herd in Borella yesterday, Joint Opposition member, Bandula Gunawardena said, that people would have continued to bear the burden of increased VAT, if not for Wimal Weerawansa filed a case and obtained an interim order from the Supreme Court.

Followed by the Supreme Court ruling that it should be passed in parliament, the Government has proposed to bring the legislative enactment on VAT on 20^th July 2016. After it was placed in Parliament, within 8 days, a case will be filed and obtain relief for the public.
