Namal Arrested Only After he Accepted Receiving Rs 70 Million- Deputy Minister Ajith Perera

In yesterday’s press conference announcing Cabinet decisions, Deputy Minister Ajith Perea said that Namal has accepted receiving Rs 70 Million. It is only after long judicial process beginning with the complaint lodged by anti-corruption movement, Provincial Councillor Vasantha Samarasinghe on 26th December 2015 and B report number R/195/2016 filed in the Court by the FCID on 03 / 01/ 2016, there after four reports to the Court, last report to the Court on 11th June 2016 and Namal accepted receiving Rs. 70 Million, he was arrested.  In his statement to the FCID, he stated that he had spent the money for Carlton Super 7 Rugby Group and not for his private purposes. But Carlton Super 7 Rugby Group CEO and Members categorically stated to the FCID that their club had not received even a cent from Namal Rajapakshe.  Hence it is obvious ,that there is no political or personal vendetta against Namal Rajapakshe, he emphasized.
