False Allegation Against Dehiwala Zoo
A woman trader and her accomplices reported to have disseminating false propaganda alleging animals are being smuggled to foreign countries from Dehiwala Zoo and are subjected to abuse and torture. Fake video displaying animal abuse and torture were uploaded in internet, claimed Shantha Jayaweera, a member of the animal protection society.
Purpose of this malice propaganda is to grab the valuable land on which Dehiwala Zoo established. Shantha Jayaweera stated that this matter will be brought to the notice of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Wildlife on 22nd July 2016.
