Puravasi Balaya Insists that Shiranthi Rajapaksha Should Be Questioned

Puravasi Balaya Co-convener Gamini Viyangoda said,  that pro-Rajapaksa camp always  criticize the government for lack of progress on allegations of fraud , when the alleged perpetrators are not arrested. Once arrest is made after following  judicial process,   pro-Rajapaksa camp is trying to portray arrests made by police as political witch hunts.

Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, should also be questioned over the allegations of financial fraud currently being investigated by police, he said. Further, he  called for the establishment of a special tribunal for the judicial process regarding serious financial fraud.

Meanwhile, Convener of National Movement for a Just Society Sarath Wijesuriya said that the investigations on allegations should  be carried out without any political interference. However, he observed   that this government  also seems to be protecting certain people involved in frauds.
