International Arrest Warrant to Arrest Udayanga Weeratunga?

On last Friday (15) FCID  requested the court that Udayanga Weeratunga to be  summoned before the court in connection with the case regarding  the purchase of four MiG 27 Aircrafts during the tenure of the United People’s Freedom Alliance led government .

Udayanga Weeratunga who is currently overseas was issued summons to appear before Court on Friday.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court will today determine whether an international arrest warrant to be issued to Former Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga.

The verdict will be announced following a request made by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division.

Court will also decide on whether to issue summons to the Legal Director of the Air Force to appear before Court
