The Medical Superintendent of the Vauvniya General Hospital Mrs. Sudharshani Vigneshwaran stated that the hospital is currently housing nearly 25 Influenza A patients and that one Pregnant lady had died as a result of the disease.
Doctors state that Influenza A can be fatal Pregnant Ladies, Children below 2 years old, Diabetic and Kidney patients as well as people over 65 years.
It is advised to meet a doctor if symptoms such as coughing, headaches, a cold or high fever persist over a period of time.
Influenza can be treated with the proper medical attention.
