Southern Provincial Council Minister of Fisheries D.V.Upul Removed

The President Maithreepala Siresena has removed Southern Provincial Council  Minister  of Fisheries ,D.V.Upul with immediate effect,  and appointed H.W. Gunasena  as the new Minister of fisheries in the Southern Provincial Council. Both are from the  UPFA.

D.V.Upul is a ardent supporter of the Mahinda wing and once he said that after the change FCID would be stoned. Case filed in this connection is pending . As supporters of Maithree as well as Mahinda faction in the Southern Provincial Council is more or less equal, keeping balance of power in Southern Provincial Council appears to be a difficult task.
