Interpol Assistance Sought to Investigate Cocaine Seized Recently

Sri Lanka has decided to seek the assistance of the Interpol pertaining to investigations into the recent seizure of 274 kilograms of cocaine at the Peliyagoda Container Yard.
Acting Police Media Director Deputy Inspector General Priyantha Jayakody said the move was taken based on current information revealed in ongoing investigations.
The largest haul of cocaine was seized on the 21st July. Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara has advised officers in charge of the raid pertaining to future investigations.
Accordingly the government analyst  report is due to be submitted within the week.
The net worth of the haul of cocaine seized by Police is estimated at four Billion rupees. According to information the container originated from Brazil.
