Cabinet Decides on Purchase of Coal for Norochcholai

Minister of Power and Renewable Energy,  Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said the Cabinet of Ministers will make a final decision on the tender to purchase coal for the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant.

Minister Siyambalapitiya made a special statement in Parliament on the 20 th of July pertaining to the tender to issue coal.

The Minister in his statement said no loss has been incurred through the transaction.

However, an Expert Panel has been appointed to look into the process. Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said the investigations into the matter are scheduled to conclude on the 29th of July.
