Dhal prices lowered

The special commodity levy imposed on Dhal was lowered by 25 cents from mid night today, the Finance Ministry stated.

A spokesperson from the Ministry stated that this decision was taken to reduce the burden on the people to counter the price hike in the global market.

Meanwhile, the special commodity levy for palm oil had been increased from Rs 90 to Rs 110 per kilogram.
