PAFFREL Challenges Delaying Of LG Polls in the Supreme Court

The People’s Action for Free and Fair Election (PAFFREL) has  filed a Fundamental Rights petition with the Supreme Court yesterday seeking an order to hold Local Government polls,  where delimitation works  has been completed.

PAFFREL accused  the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faizer Mustapha purposefully delaying the delimitation work.

PAFFREL has named the Minister, Secretary to the Ministry, Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya and eight others as respondents.
