Kegalle Magistrate Allowed Pada Yathra

Kegalle Police has filed papers with the Kegalle Magistrate seeking an order to prohibit Pada Yathra participants from using Kandy to Colombo Road as it will disturb the traffic and peace of the people. After considering the application, the Kegalle Magistrate has laid down the following terms and conditions to proceed with the Pada Yathra through Kandy Municipal limit:

1. If the Police request the Kandy to Colombo main road is needed for any important event, Pada Yathra should start at Meepitiya and end at Rangwella.

2. In case they use Colombo to Kandy main road, to use only one lane.

3. Pada Yathra should not in any way cause inconvenience to the Public and disturb the peace.
