Why the Government is Dead Scared about Pada Yathra? Mahinda Ask?

Mahinda said whatever the obstacles placed on their way to Colombo during Pada Yathra, he would never withdraw from it. I can’t understand why the Government is so dead scared about Pada Yathra. He said this while inaugurating   the Pada Yathra yesterday. Further he said, that Pada Yathra is undertaken in the best interest of the people in Srilanka. Current issues are;

1. VAT increase , which placed sufferings on people

2. Unemployed Graduates are increasing.

3. ETCA agreement with India, more beneficial to India than to Srilanka.

Pada Yathra was based on above three problems faced by the people.
