Report on Norochcholai Tender Submitted to Minister Siyambalapitiya

Public was confused over whom should be blamed for the irregularities in tendering for Norochcholai Coal. Former Minister Champika passed on the responsibility to the current Ministry. In this connection, the Supreme Court issued directives to the Ministry regarding tenders called to supply coal for the Lakvijaya power plant.
In the recent past Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said in Parliament , that  all matters concerning the issue including the Supreme Court directives will be considered following the submission of the report compiled by the three-member committee.
The three-member committee appointed to investigate alleged corruption during the coal tender procedure for the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant, has submitted the report  to the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya today
Making a special statement in Parliament, Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said the committee will probe all allegations pertaining to the coal tender procedure. However the Minister stressed ongoing investigations has not revealed any discrepancies during the tender process.
