SriLanka Mahajana Party Merged with Mahinda

Former President Chandirika Bandranayke Kumarathunge’s husband Vijaya Kumarathunge led the SriLanka Mahajana Party at the time of his death. Subsequently it was led by Chandrika. Later on leadership of this party changed hands.

Now the party is led by North Western Provincial Councillor Asanga Navaratne. He said that although there were short comings in the previous Government of Mahinda Rajapakshe, they have  decided to merged with Mahinda’s Party.
