No Compensation For Port City Project Delay But Land …

Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (02) said ,that the Chinese company which handles the Colombo Port City Project has agreed not to claim  the loss caused due to the halt of the project.

Earlier, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also said Sri Lanka need not pay any compensation for the delay in the Colombo Port City Project.

The Prime Minister said the matter of compensation was not raised during his visit in China and assured that it would be solved easily. However, portion of the land within the project reserved for race course reported have been released to the Chinese company.
