Both parties, the Chinese government / companies and Srilanka Government agreed to amend the original contract signed in the year 2014. Important features in this amendments are :
01. Out right ownership of 20 hectares land mentioned in the original agreement will be converted in to a 99 year lease.
02. No need to pay compensation for the delay caused by the Srilanka Government. But alternatives have been considered.
03. Port city to be converted as a financial hub.
Through this amendments Srilanka will be benefited.
