Ranil wants to resign?

Ranil Wickramasinghe has called an urgent meeting of the UNP’s executive board for tomorrow (19). Sources say UNP headquarters have issued a notice that the meeting is both mandatory and any member unable to attend must get permission from the Party leader.

The UNP executive committee recently reached a decision that the government should be dissolved before the 20^th amendment is enacted. And general elections should be held according to the current system while future elections will be held in accordance to 20A. Sources claim that they have informed the President regarding this matter.

Ranil Wickramasinghe has expressed his displeasure that the Parliament has not be dissolved and it is expected that the UNP will resign from Government.
