Wimal Interrogated on Rs 100 M loss Caused to the State

Presidential Commission  has summoned Wimal Weerawansa  yesterday to inquire  into Rs 100 million  loss caused to the state between the period 2010 and 2015. The misuse and abuse was in connection with vehicles, houses and shops belonging to the ministry.
The former minister had allegedly used vehicles and fuel belonging to the State Engineering Corporation which was under his Ministry purview. Further, for the use of his personal staff in violation of establishment code.
Investigations carried out by the Police Investigations Unit of the Commission have established that houses and shops belonging to the Ministry had been given to his relations and close associates on purely personal considerations.
