CCD director & two sergeants sentenced

 

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) Director of  and two Police sergeants were sentenced for 8 years by Panadura High Court (HC) today over a death of a 16-year-old boy at Horana in 1990.

The convicted were fined Rs. 25,000 each. CCD Director SSP Roshan de Silva had been serving as Ingiriya Police OIC at the time when the youth who was arrested, was found dead in the police cell.

The youth was arrested on charges of JVP activities. One of the two sergeants had retired from service.
