The Prime Minister commenting on VAT verdict said, even though he has an issue with the verdict, he would not challenge the Supreme Court. He said that he would not table a no-confidence motion against the Chief Justice, as done the previous regime.
By following the directives issued by the Supreme Court, he said he is safeguarding the laws enacted during Mahinda Rajapaksa’s term.
He said if the present government is prepared to correct its mistakes, when pointed out and created a favorable environment where the public can challenge the government before the judiciary on its policy decisions.
