COPE Chairman Sunil Chief Denounce luxury Vehicle………

The government had recently allocated Rs 90 million for COPE members to purchase vehicles in order to carry out their work. The COPE Chairman and the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee  are included in the list of fund recipients.

It was widely included in news media that the Government has allocated  Rs 90 million to purchase a vehicle for the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) Chairman, Sunil Handunnetti,

But, Sunil Handunnetti has denounced  acceptance of  the funds allocated for COPE members to purchase luxury vehicle

Sunil Handunnetti  has this  to say  “I was informed about this by the COPE secretary. But I said it was not needed because it was not necessary for me to purchase another vehicle. I have received a vehicle from the party. People are being burdened by more taxes, imposed by the government which claim that they don’t have enough money. In a situation like that why should we buy more vehicles?”
