Ex-UNP Local Council member arrested

 

A former United National Party (UNP) member of the Ambalantota Local Council (LC) has been arrested for allegedly hunting animals within the Mandunagala Forest Reserve.

The Wildlife Office of Hambantota stated that the suspect was taken into custody during a raid on Thursday night.

The wildlife officers had also seized a carcass of a Chevrotain also known as a mouse deer and a shot gun in the possession of the suspect.
