Establishment of a National Information Centre to Fulfill Right to Information Act Requirement…

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe  has submitted a cabinet paper  to establish a National Information Centre to obtain official government information. This is in accordance with the requirement of Right to information act.

The proposal tabled by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The government pointed out that a National Information Centre is essential for generating policies and to gather public opinion and provide , accurate and credible official information to mass media.
