Privatization of Fifty Government Institutions Imminent – Cautioned Wasantha Samarasinghe

Wasantha Samarasinghe , JVP provincial councilor and Convener of the Voice Against Corruption participating a conference in Thanamalvila recently said , the government is preparing to sell 50 government institutions.

He further stated that the list includes Sevanagala and Pelawatta sugar factories. Most of the land in Colombo are already sold. There is nothing much left to be sold, he said.

Samarasinghe further  said  that  good people who can influence decision makers keeping silence is a greater hurdle in overcoming the situation and changing it in the public interest  is the biggest challenge.
