Weather Forecast For 28th August 2016
Fairly strong winds (up to 50-60kmph) can be expected over the island.
Several spells of light showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa Central and North-western provinces and in the Jaffna, Mannar, Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Uva and Eastern provinces after 2.00 p.m.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
On the apparent southward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 28th of August and 07th of September in this year. The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (28th) are Pullaveli, Veddukaddu and Urvanikanpattu about 12.12 noon.
