Srilankan Hacking Genius in Court Today (Update)
Both Hackers were released on bail under strict Condition. 17 years old student granted bail subject to 2 Sureties of 10 lakhs each, while the other suspects was granted bail on 25,000 cash surety and 4 sureties of 10 lakhs each.

The president.gov.lk site came under a cyber-attack last Thursday and Friday. Investigations revealed that a young student and another adult directly involved in hacking. They were arrested and produced in the Court. The third person who aided and abetted in this Cybercrime is a 16 year old Bangladeshi national allegedly involved in hacking the President’s official website will also be arrested soon with the help of Bangladesh Police.
On arrest of 17 year old student, an order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya on the 30th of September to place under probationary care for hacking the website. Another order was issued by the Court to remand the second suspect also arrested on the same charge till 2nd September 2016.
The student and the other suspect will be produced before the court today.
In the meantime Minister Amaraweera said, President Maithiripala Sirisena will Pardon the young 17 year old school boy, who hacked Presidential website. Joint Opposition Gammanpila suggested, that he should be appointed as the Director of Mass Media Communication at the President house.
