Bharatha Lakshman’s Murder Case Verdict

The verdict on the murder of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra case was taken up inquiry today in  Colombo High Court and  5  accused including  Duminda Silva were sentenced to death.

The sentence was handed down on Former Parliamentarian Duminda Silva, Anura Thushara Demel, Chaminda Ravi-Jayanath alias ‘Dematagoda Chaminda’, Sarath Bandara and Janaka Bandara Galegoda.

It was revealed during the trial that one of the defendants in the case, Janaka Bandara Galegoda was reported missing.

Issuing the verdict, court informed that Former MP Duminda Silva had led the attack.

Court also informed that the Former MP had been under the influence of alchohol at the time.
