Gazetting Delimitation Demanded By PAFFREL
PAFFREL requested the government to promptly issue a gazette pertaining to the report of the delimitation commission.
Delay in submitting the report on delimitation has delayed the conduct of the Local Government Election said, Executive Director of the People’s Action for a Free and Fair Election Rohana Hettiarachchi.
The delimitation commission was given a number of extensions by the subject Minister and said, report would be issued in August. Now we understand they asked for time till the 15th of September. He insisted that the report on delimitation be submitted on 15th September 2016 thus enabling issue of gazette. If not the Elections Commission will face difficulties in holding the election.
